Jon O'Neill grew up in Santa Clara, CA, with a lifelong passion for fitness, strength, and helping others. He started going to the gym at 13 with his mom and later competed in track and field while also training in Krav Mega and Muay Thai during high school.
After graduating, Jon joined the U.S. Army, completing infantry training and airborne school before being assigned to A Co, 2/504 PIR, 1BCT, 82nd Airborne Division. He deployed to Ramadi, Iraq, in 2009 as an ammo bearer and M240B machine gunner, facing daily insurgent threats. Upon returning, he earned a spot in his battalion's scout platoon and was selected for the sniper section, later graduating from U.S. Army Sniper School in 2011. He also attended the Army Mountain Warfare Sniper Course, refining his skills in high-range marksmanship, tracking, and mountaineering.
In 2012, Jon deployed again—this time as a sniper in Afghanistan—where he faced continuous combat conditions. After returning stateside, he became a recon team leader, mentoring and training the next generation of snipers. He also competed in the 2013 Gastonia Sniper Conference, testing his skills against the nation’s top military and law enforcement snipers.
Throughout his military career, Jon developed a deep appreciation for physical therapy as a means to stay mission-ready despite injuries. This led him to pursue higher education in the field. After leaving the military, he started at a community college while also training and competing as an Olympic weightlifter. In 2017, he moved to Lake Havasu City to complete his kinesiology degree at Arizona State University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2019.
Accepted into Franklin Pierce University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, Jon and his fiancée, Alberta, relocated to Goodyear. He balanced full-time studies, coaching CrossFit, and competing in shooting sports. He placed 9th in the elite division of his first Tactical Games event and began competing in USPSA matches. In 2023, he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, receiving the Stephanie Johnson Excellence in Clinical Practice Award and induction into the National Physical Therapy Student Honor Society for academic excellence, leadership, and service.
Jon and Alberta returned to Lake Havasu, started their careers, and welcomed their son, Luca Kelly O’Neill, in March 2024—his most fulfilling role yet, fatherhood. Jon continued to train and compete in CrossFit and shooting sports, including the PCSL 2-Gun Nationals in late 2024.
Recognizing the need for a better physical therapy experience free from insurance constraints, Jon partnered with HXF to launch FlowState PT in 2025. His mission is to help high-performers, athletes, and motivated everyday individuals move pain-free, master new skills, and achieve their personal flow state—whether that’s in the gym, on the field, or in life.
When he’s not helping clients reach their peak, Jon enjoys training, shooting, learning new skills, and spending time with Alberta and Luca.
